​Onshore Wind Commissioning Supervisor – South Korea

TGRC is seeking an experienced Onshore Wind Commissioning Supervisor to support upcoming onshore wind project activity in South Korea.

This is a contract opportunity suited to a commissioning professional with strong wind turbine experience, ideally gained across major OEM platforms. The successful candidate will support the safe, efficient and compliant commissioning of onshore wind turbines from mechanical completion through to energisation, testing, handover and early operational readiness.

The Role

As Commissioning Supervisor, you will oversee day-to-day turbine commissioning activities on site, ensuring that works are delivered safely, to programme and in accordance with OEM procedures, project specifications and quality requirements.

You will act as a key interface between commissioning technicians, installation teams, site management, engineering support and client representatives, helping to drive progress through each stage of the commissioning process.

Key Responsibilities

Commissioning Delivery

Supervise onshore wind turbine commissioning activities from mechanical completion through to handover.

Coordinate daily commissioning tasks, work packs, permits, resources and site priorities.

Support energisation, functional testing, system checks and turbine start-up activities.

Monitor commissioning progress against project schedules and report delays, risks or technical blockers.

Ensure all commissioning works are completed in line with OEM procedures and project requirements.

Technical Supervision

Provide technical guidance to commissioning technicians and service teams.

Support troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pitch, yaw, converter and control systems.

Escalate complex technical issues to engineering or OEM support teams where required.

Review commissioning records, test sheets and completion documentation.

Ensure defects, punch list items and non-conformances are recorded and closed out appropriately.

Site Coordination

Liaise with installation supervisors, site managers, electrical teams, grid connection teams and client representatives.

Support daily planning meetings, toolbox talks and progress reviews.

Coordinate handover between installation, commissioning and operations teams.

Help ensure safe sequencing of energisation, testing and operational activities.

Health, Safety & Quality

Promote a strong safety-first culture across all commissioning activities.

Ensure compliance with site HSE procedures, permit-to-work requirements and risk assessments.

Confirm commissioning activities are performed by competent and authorised personnel.

Support incident prevention, safety observations and continuous improvement on site.

Requirements

Previous experience supervising wind turbine commissioning activities.

Strong background in onshore wind, offshore wind, turbine installation, service or commissioning.

Good understanding of turbine electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and control systems.

Experience working with OEM commissioning procedures and project handover documentation.

Ability to lead site teams and coordinate multiple work fronts safely.

Strong communication skills and confidence working with international project teams.

Comfortable working on a contract basis in South Korea.

Korean language skills would be advantageous; English language skills are highly desirable for OEM and international project coordination.

Preferred Qualifications

GWO Basic Safety Training.

Electrical, mechanical or renewable energy qualification.

Authorisations related to HV/LV systems would be advantageous.

Previous experience with major wind turbine OEM platforms.

First Aid, Working at Height, Manual Handling and Fire Awareness training.

Project duration, rotation and mobilisation date to be confirmed.

Competitive contract rate depending on experience, availability and project requirements.

Suitable for locally based candidates or international contractors with relevant South Korea project eligibility.
