Electrical Engineer
Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineer to join a fast-growing renewable energy developer delivering utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the UK.
This role offers the chance to work across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage grid connection and design through to construction support and commissioning while also gaining exposure to emerging technologies including data centres, geothermal and onshore wind.
The business has a significant UK pipeline of large-scale renewable infrastructure projects and offers a genuinely entrepreneurial environment where engineers are encouraged to take ownership, contribute ideas, and broaden their technical capabilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to accelerate their career within a highly collaborative and technically ambitious team.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
Producing and reviewing HV and LV electrical designs for solar and BESS projects
Preparing and managing grid connection applications with DNOs and National Grid
Supporting equipment specification and technical evaluation of inverters, transformers, switchgear and BESS technologies
Conducting power systems studies including load flow, fault level and harmonic analysis
Providing technical input into planning applications, EIAs and infrastructure consenting processes
Coordinating with external consultants, contractors and suppliers throughout project delivery
Supporting construction, installation and commissioning activities
Exploring opportunities to apply AI, scripting and automation tools to improve engineering workflows and project delivery
Keeping up to date with grid codes, industry standards and emerging technologies
