Onshore Wind | Civil Works | Balance of Plant | Contract

TGRC is seeking an experienced Balance of Plant / Civil Supervisor to support upcoming onshore wind project activity in South Korea.

This is a contract opportunity suited to a civil construction professional with experience across wind farms, renewable energy, infrastructure, roads, foundations, substations, cable routes or major site development works. The successful candidate will support the safe and efficient delivery of civil and balance of plant activities across utility-scale onshore wind projects.

The Role

As Balance of Plant / Civil Supervisor, you will oversee day-to-day civil construction activities on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, correctly and in line with project programme, drawings, specifications and quality requirements.

You will coordinate contractors and subcontractors across key work fronts such as access roads, crane pads, turbine foundations, drainage, site compounds, cable trenches, ducting, reinstatement and associated infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Civil & Balance of Plant Delivery

Supervise civil and balance of plant works across onshore wind project sites.

Oversee construction of access roads, turbine hardstands, crane pads, laydown areas, site compounds and temporary works.

Support delivery of turbine foundations, drainage systems, cable routes, ducting and associated infrastructure.

Monitor daily progress against programme and report delays, risks or resource constraints.

Ensure works are delivered in line with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and inspection requirements.

Contractor Coordination

Coordinate civil contractors, subcontractors, plant operators, survey teams and specialist service providers.

Support daily planning meetings, toolbox talks and work-front coordination.

Check that contractors have the required permits, drawings, equipment and resources before works begin.

Act as a key site interface between civil teams, electrical teams, turbine installation teams, HSE, QA/QC and project management.

Escalate technical, quality, safety or logistical issues promptly to the Site Manager or Construction Manager.

Quality & Technical Control

Inspect civil works to ensure they meet project quality standards.

Support checks relating to earthworks, levels, compaction, concrete works, reinforcement, anchor cages, drainage and reinstatement.

Identify defects, incomplete works or non-conformances and ensure they are tracked through to close-out.

Support inspection and test plans, quality documentation and handover records.

Ensure civil works are ready for subsequent turbine installation, electrical or commissioning activities.

Site Safety & Environmental Management

Promote a strong safety-first culture across all civil and balance of plant activities.

Ensure compliance with site HSE procedures, permit-to-work requirements, traffic management plans and risk assessments.

Monitor safe operation of plant, vehicles, lifting equipment and temporary works.

Support environmental controls relating to drainage, sediment control, waste, spill prevention and site reinstatement.

Participate in site inspections, safety observations and incident prevention activities.

Reporting & Handover

Prepare daily progress updates, site reports and issue logs.

Maintain accurate records of completed works, inspections and contractor activity.

Support punch list close-out and civil handover documentation.

Help ensure completed areas are handed over safely and efficiently to installation, electrical or commissioning teams.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Civil Supervisor, Balance of Plant Supervisor, Construction Supervisor, Site Supervisor or Clerk of Works on wind, renewable energy, infrastructure or major construction projects.

Strong understanding of civil works, earthworks, roads, foundations, drainage, concrete works and site infrastructure.

Experience coordinating contractors, plant operators and subcontractor teams.

Ability to read technical drawings, construction specifications, method statements and inspection plans.

Strong site coordination, communication and reporting skills.

Comfortable working in remote site environments and challenging weather conditions.

Comfortable working on a contract basis in South Korea.

Korean language skills would be highly advantageous; English language skills are desirable for international project coordination.

Preferred Qualifications

Civil engineering, construction management or related technical qualification.

Experience on onshore wind projects would be highly desirable.

Knowledge of turbine foundations, crane hardstands and wind farm access road requirements.

HSE training, site supervision certification or temporary works awareness would be advantageous.

ISO 9001 or construction quality awareness would be beneficial.

Previous experience working with major wind turbine OEMs, EPC contractors, developers or civil subcontractors.

Contract Details

Contract position supporting onshore wind project activity in South Korea.

Project duration, rotation and mobilisation date to be confirmed.

Competitive contract rate depending on experience, availability and project requirements.

Suitable for locally based candidates or international contractors with relevant South Korea project eligibility.
