Job description

​The Green Recruitment Company has been retained by a grid-scale energy storage developer to support their Project Finance/M&A team in Miami, FL. As the VP of Project Finance, you will oversee the project finance function and be responsible for originating, structuring and executing transactions related to greenfield battery storage projects throughout the US.

YOUR IMPACT

A key member of the senior team, you will lead the company’s engagement with debt providers and tax equity investors (assuming expansion of ITC to include standalone storage) to secure commitments and close transactions for project financing of our energy storage assets. This position involves working closely with other team members across disciplines and managing advisors and counsel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinating the strategy and executing the plan to raise warehouse debt, term debt, tax equity to support growth of company’s portfolio of operating storage assets.

  • Structuring, negotiating, and closing project financing, including construction debt, term debt, tax equity

  • Execution of due diligence processes.

  • Review of project documentation and third-party reports.

  • Interface with debt and equity investors in the storage space - source, negotiate and close tax equity and loan commitments.

  • Lead finance transactions, negotiations, due diligence, and modeling.

  • Develop and maintain successful relationships with financing parties, including tax equity investors, lenders, project investors and others.

  • Manage corporate finance compliance requirements including budgets, cash flow forecasts and other quarterly reporting requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years’ experience in storage and/or renewable energy project finance or investment banking.

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related; Masters preferred.

  • Expertise with the energy project development process, capital requirements and various tax equity structures.

  • Proven track record of leading successful transactions and closings under tight deadlines.

  • Active network and relationships with tax equity and debt providers in the storage and renewable generation space.

  • Expertise in financial modeling (cash flow forecasts, project scenarios analysis, project risk and return) and documentation (management of relevant financial closing documentation, leading due diligence and supporting team during commercial negotiations).

  • Willingness to travel as needed

  • Demonstrated ability to manage the financial, legal, and internal approval process to successfully close transactions

  • Strong communication skills with proven track record in building relationships and working in cross-functional collaborative teams

  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving dynamic, environment
