The Opportunity

An innovative Solar developer backed by a leading provider of capital is seeking a Solar Project Engineer to join their dynamic and growing team. The Project Engineer will be working together with the technical and development teams to support utility scale FPV projects development in North America.

The Role

• Provide technical deliverables to support the development of floating PV projects
• Preliminary system design and optimization given desired application/use case
• Perform yield studies
• Conceptual project site layouts and optimization
• Technical input to project schedules
• Support project cost estimates, including upfront capex and long-term opex
• Support preliminary engineering to support permitting, interconnection and procurement
• Serve as technical resource for project development team, developing solutions and handling technical challenges that arise during various phases of the project
• Develop specifications for solar equipment and contractors, and provide technical support to procurement of equipment and contractors
• Evaluate technologies and manufacturers for capital and operational efficiencies. Research equipment forward price curves and emerging technologies
• Support monitoring relevant industry, federal, state, and local standards relating to floating PV deployment
• Develop innovative tools and approaches to optimize levelized cost of floating PV
• Support due diligence of project acquisitions upon request

The Person

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• 5 years of relevant experience in solar PV projects
• Strong knowledge of solar PV technology and design
• Experience managing contractors and consultants
• Experience working with suppliers of major equipment
