This is a unique opportunity sitting at the intersection of energy infrastructure and digital assets, where you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering energy concepts for large-scale data centre projects.
The opportunity:
You’ll take ownership of a significant pipeline (c. 500MW – 1GW) of data centre developments, leading projects from early-stage origination through permitting and development readiness. Alongside execution, you’ll also contribute to commercial strategy and business development within the digital infrastructure segment.
This role offers a blend of hands-on project delivery and strategic influence, working closely with senior leadership, including a Chief Business Development Officer.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the development of data centre projects from site identification through permitting and development maturity
Shape and deliver energy concepts aligned with data centre requirements
Drive project origination and support business development activities in the digital infrastructure space
Manage external partners (developers, consultants, planners) to ensure quality and timeline delivery
Navigate German permitting processes, including spatial planning, environmental approvals, and grid connection
Coordinate closely with internal teams across technical, legal, and commercial functions
Represent the business with authorities, municipalities, and key stakeholders
Monitor project progress, risks, and milestones in line with strategic objectives
What we’re looking for:
5+ years’ experience in infrastructure, digital, or data centre development
Strong understanding of data centre engineering and energy requirements
Proven experience across permitting and development processes in Germany
Exposure to both project execution and commercial/origination activities
Ability to operate autonomously in a senior, high-impact role
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Comfortable working across both operational delivery and strategic planning
Why consider this role?
Direct impact on a rapidly growing data centre platform in Europe
Unique combination of energy and digital infrastructure
High level of ownership and visibility within the organisation
Strong pipeline and long-term growth ambitions
