About the Role
We are supporting a rapidly expanding renewable energy business in the search for a Procurement Manager to strengthen its growing procurement function
With an extensive pipeline of battery energy storage (BESS) projects across Europe, many of which are entering the contracting phase, the company is scaling its procurement capabilities to support delivery at pace.
This role will play a key part in executing a structured and standardised procurement strategy, enabling projects to be delivered efficiently across multiple geographies.
Location: Germany (multiple locations) / Remote
Key Responsibilities
Lead tender processes and negotiate framework agreements and project contracts for BESS projects across Germany and wider European markets
Manage end-to-end procurement processes, from initiation through to contract execution
Act as a central interface between procurement teams, technical specialists, project developers, and external contractors
Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including asset management, construction, finance, and origination to ensure alignment on technical and commercial requirements
Work closely with external legal and technical advisors to strengthen contractual outcomes
Conduct and manage due diligence processes related to supplier selection and contract award
Support the development and expansion of a strong contractor base within Germany, particularly across electrical and Balance of Plant (BoP) scopes
Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers and partners
Maintain procurement databases, including supplier evaluations, benchmarking, and market intelligence
Candidate Profile
Approximately 5+ years of experience in procurement or contract management, ideally within the energy or infrastructure sector
Experience working on CAPEX projects within renewable energy (e.g. BESS, solar PV, wind, or similar)
Strong understanding of contract frameworks such as FIDIC and/or VOB/B
Proven track record of negotiating complex commercial and contractual agreements
Experience working in international project environments
Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe
Qualifications & Skills
Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. engineering, business, or similar)
Fluent in German (native level), with additional European languages being advantageous
Strong commercial acumen and structured working approach
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Results-oriented, proactive, and adaptable in a dynamic environment
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multicultural teams
