​I’m currently working with a high-growth, well-backed player in the environmental markets space that’s looking to appoint a Senior Originator/Trader to help scale its commercial trading activities.

This is a senior, high-impact role suited to someone who combines strong market expertise with a proven ability to originate deals, manage risk, and drive revenue across environmental products.

The opportunity:

You’ll take ownership of a trading portfolio spanning carbon markets, Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs), and low-carbon fuels, while playing a key role in shaping commercial strategy and expanding market presence. Operating within an entrepreneurial, fast-scaling environment, you’ll also contribute to building trading infrastructure, developing processes, and mentoring junior team members.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading market analysis and translating insights into actionable trading strategies

• Owning P&L and driving performance across a diversified trading book

• Structuring and executing complex transactions (e.g. structured deals, arbitrage, long-term agreements)

• Originating and closing high-value commercial opportunities

• Building and maintaining senior relationships across utilities, corporates, developers, and financial institutions

• Managing risk exposure and optimising portfolio performance

• Representing the business in market-facing and strategic discussions

• Supporting the build-out of trading processes, systems, and team capability

What we’re looking for:

• 3–6+ years’ experience in energy or environmental commodities markets

• Strong track record in deal origination and revenue generation

• Deep understanding of carbon, EACs, renewable gas or related markets

• Excellent commercial instincts and negotiation skills

• Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

• Leadership capability or a clear trajectory toward leading a function

• Genuine interest in the energy transition and sustainability
