Location: Virginia(minimum 20% travel required)

Responsibilities:

- Create mechanical enclosures/ containers, racks, and parts needed in the energy storage industry

- Design mechanical features of battery module packs

- Conduct FEA and CFD simulations and analysis

- Manage multiple tasks

- Review engineering drawings and check for appropriate dimensions & tolerances

- Optimize designs for thermal management

- Collaborate in a team environment

Minimum Requirements:

- 10 years of product development and mechanical engineering experience

- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor

- Understanding of FEA principles and software -> NASTRAN/ ANSYS

- Experience designing sheet metal & structural steel

- Basic understanding of thermo principles

- Knowledge of designing NFPA 855, 68, and 69

- Experience designing for seismic conditions (IEEE 693)

- Strong interpersonal & organizational skills
