Senior Manager or Director, Origination

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead origination strategy and execution across key markets, aligning with our client's growth objectives and project pipeline.

  • Cultivate and expand relationships with investor-owned utilities, municipal and cooperative power agencies, and large commercial/industrial energy buyers.

  • Oversee the pursuit of bilateral opportunities and RFP responses, ensuring competitive positioning and timely delivery.

  • Direct internal teams through the full sales lifecycle—from opportunity identification to contract negotiation and close.

  • Collaborate with development, finance, and executive leadership to align project development with customer needs and market dynamics.

  • Represent our client at industry events and in client engagements, serving as a senior voice in commercial discussions.

  • Mentor and support junior originators and commercial team members.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).

  • 5+ years of experience in the energy industry, with a strong focus on renewable energy origination and power market design.

  • Demonstrated success in leading complex sales and negotiating long-term power purchase agreements.

  • Strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Deep understanding of project finance, pro forma modeling, and risk assessment.

  • Established network within utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, and corporate energy buyers.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% across the U.S.
