Job title: Senior Estimation Manager


Our client is a pioneer and leading offshore wind developer and operator with more than 20 years’ experience and a track record of approx. 7 GW developed around the globe to date. The competencies of our 300 employees cover the entire offshore wind value chain, including greenfield development, engineering and design, procurement, financing, construction management and asset management. Senior Estimation Manager

Your position:

  • You manage and compile cost and business case estimations for offshore wind projects in various markets with your comprehensive commercial and technical understanding of all project aspects, that influence the profitability and the successful project realization.

  • You prepare cost estimates, scenarios and sensitivities ranging from Order of Magnitude to detailed, ensuring a full understanding of the commercial and technical scope, cost estimate basis, schedule, contracting strategy and execution plan.

  • When limited information is available, you find a reasonable approach as basis for the estimation and can justify your estimations against internal and external cost metrics and benchmarks.

  • You review, challenge and validate cost estimations provided by contractors, work packages and third-party consultants, ensure consistency against requirements prior to integration into the project cost estimate and Financial Model.

  • You are building out the area with state-of-the-art tools, processes and methods to ensure an efficient work flow.

  • With your broad understanding of the overall commercial mechanics, you contribute to the selection of markets and projects and take part in tenders, auctions and M&A transactions to extend the Skyborn pipeline.

  • You lead a team of currently three Estimation Managers on work level and allow them to grow by sharing your vast experience as Senior Estimation Manager.

  • You bring in fresh ideas to optimize business cases and take care of the knowledge transfer between projects and markets.

  • You support the development of offshore wind databases and models for project benchmarking and cost estimating norms.

 

Your profile:

  • You have successfully completed a degree in business administration, economics, finance, engineering or a comparable education and bring in several years of professional experience in cost and business case estimating within offshore wind projects and markets.

  • You have a profound knowledge of project cost estimating methodologies and techniques, from project concept through to project execution.

  • You have excellent analytical skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.

  • In addition, you have experience in working in an international multi-project environment that is handling several projects simultaneously.

  • Furthermore, you are proficient in MS-Excel and are fluent in written and spoken English with strong communication skills.

  • A demonstrated passion for renewable energies and the energy transition rounds off your profile.
