Position: Senior Construction Program Manager

Location: Remote (Ideally based in California or Texas)

Travel: Approximately 30-50% annually across North America (US & Canada)

 

TGRC is partnering with an independent, fully integrated energy company that develops, constructs, owns and operates renewable energy projects and transmission assets across North America, Japan, and parts of Latin America.

 

The Senior Construction Program Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a construction PMO process for the engineering, procurement, and construction of large transmission and renewable energy infrastructure projects with a focus on overall execution strategy and implementation, interface risk management, and ensuring alignment on project goals for strategic projects across the United States, with support to other markets as necessary.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

-Strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives.

-Develop program assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement.

-Maintain program standards of satisfaction, quality, safety, and performance.

-Oversee and foster effective collaboration across project teams.

-Coordinate with multiple project teams, ensuring program goals are reached.

-Monitor overall budget and financial health of the project(s).

-Lead interface management between project teams within a larger project and ensure seamless communication between transmission and renewable generation scopes.

-Identify key requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external vendors/suppliers.

-Work with Project Management teams to identify key project risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the program.

-Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks, and produce program project management reports for management and key stakeholders using industry Key Performance Indicators developed from Earned Value Management (EVM), Schedule Performance Indicators (SPI) and Cost Performance Indicators (CPI).

-Lead management and oversight of the Independent Engineer for the program during the construction execution phase.

-Coordinate with Corporate PMO team to ensure a successful transfer from the Development to Construction, and from Construction to Operations and further develop and refine metrics to improve the corporate PMO process.

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

-10+ years' experience in the Utility power industry with significant utility-scale transmission and/or renewable energy experience. Solar is a plus.

-Bachelor's in business administration and/or Bachelor's of Science degree in engineering or construction management is desired.

-Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills.

-Working knowledge of digital marketing, change management principles and performance evaluation processes.

-Demonstrated ability to complete multi-billion-dollar construction projects on schedule and within budget.

-Ability to prioritize and resolve multiple issues on multiple projects under demanding schedule constraints.

-Through understanding of transmission and renewable energy project interdependencies.

-Scheduling application experience a plus (MS Project, Primavera).

-Proven proposal writing experience.
