Senior Accountant
Job description
An international renewable energy investment and project development platform is seeking a Senior Accountant to support its Polish operations and growing portfolio of project companies. This position will take ownership of local accounting, reporting, tax compliance and audit coordination, while also supporting renewable energy project acquisitions and disposals.
Key Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle accounting for the Polish platform company and its project entities, including bookkeeping, invoice management, month-end activities and preparation of financial statements.
Prepare financial and accounting reports in accordance with Polish statutory requirements, IFRS and group reporting standards.
Manage electronic invoicing processes through KSeF and work with Polish accounting systems such as Comarch ERP Optima.
Complete local tax filings, tax refund applications, exemption applications and other tax compliance requirements.
Coordinate annual statutory audits, tax audits and transfer pricing documentation with external advisers.
Support renewable energy project acquisitions and disposals, including financial and tax due diligence, transaction structure review, contract review and the handover of accounting records.
Review payment approvals, contracts and other internal finance processes, while maintaining supplier invoice and contract registers.
Liaise with tax and customs authorities, banks, insurers, accounting providers, auditors and other external stakeholders.
Work closely with the Finance Manager and international finance teams on reporting, compliance and project-related matters.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
Approximately 5–8 years of accounting experience, including hands-on responsibility for full-cycle accounting and financial statement preparation.
Strong knowledge of Polish accounting standards, Polish tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
Practical working knowledge of IFRS.
Experience managing tax filings, external audits and financial compliance matters.
Experience using Polish accounting software, ideally Comarch ERP Optima, and knowledge of KSeF.
Professional qualification issued by the Polish Accountants Association, SKwP, at intermediate level or above is strongly preferred.
Previous experience within a multinational company, accounting firm, renewable energy business or project-based organisation would be advantageous.
Native Polish and professional working proficiency in English.
Strong attention to detail, analytical capability and willingness to travel when required.
