Job description

​My client provides independent renewable energy advice and is at the forefront of the offshore, onshore wind, solar and storage sectors. They are a global leader in hybrid projects, as such, you will be operating within a broader advisory team of experts across wind, solar and storage technologies.

The Role:

Your primary focus will be leading strategic market positioning, bidding and delivering complex projects for our key customers within the onshore and offshore wind market.

Typical services will be linked to the feasibility, development, construction, and operation phases of wind farm projects, including due diligence, owners engineering and general technical advisory, together with collocation with other technologies.

The role is technical, and you will be undertaking a technical, project management, commercial and customer-facing role.

This position can be based in Bristol, Dublin, Glasgow or London.

The Responsibilities:

As a Principal Consultant, you will develop, pitch and deliver new service offerings to varied customer types. You will bring your established network of contacts together with your expert business developing and consulting skills.

You will also support Team Leaders and Head of Section with coaching and mentoring of staff. Our Principal Consultants are leaders in their sector therefore, you will be given control to shape the strategic areas of growth within your expertise and space to broaden your horizons.

Some travel should be expected concerning the project management and delivery responsibilities and to support an active presence with our customers for sales activities.

Your Profile:

  • Ideal Skills/Qualities include-

  • An appropriate degree/ higher degree in an engineering subject.

  • Significant experience in the renewables industry in a technical consulting capacity.

  • Previous demonstrable experience in performing owners engineering or/and consultancy activities

  • Strong understanding of the renewable sector trends and market development.

  • Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape.

  • Excellent project management skills and track record leading (inter)national projects.

  • Detailed understanding of non-standard contract forms in construction, in particular for renewable energy projects.

  • In-depth understanding of project finance structures and the financial models for wind farm projects.

  • Proven ability to produce clear written reports and communicate verbally in English.
