R&D Engineer (Senior) – Wind Energy

Shanghai, China (On-site)
Salary: RMB 320,000 – 460,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

The Green Recruitment Company is partnering with a leading global wind energy technology provider to appoint a Senior R&D Engineer based in Shanghai. This is a high-impact role focused on advancing next-generation wind technologies, supporting innovation across design, performance, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the development of advanced wind turbine technologies and components

  • Drive performance optimisation, reliability improvements, and design enhancements

  • Conduct simulation, modelling, and testing to validate engineering solutions

  • Analyse complex datasets to inform technical decision-making and innovation

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and project delivery

  • Support the definition of technology roadmaps and R&D strategy

  • Ensure alignment with global technical standards and best practice

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Renewable Energy Engineering (Master’s preferred)

  • Proven experience in an R&D or advanced engineering role, ideally within wind or renewable energy

  • Strong expertise in at least one of the following:

    • Turbine design (blades, drivetrain, structures)

    • Controls systems / performance modelling

    • Aerodynamics or simulation

  • Experience with engineering tools, modelling software, or data analysis

  • Ability to work in a high-performance, innovation-driven environment

  • Fluent in Mandarin (English beneficial for international collaboration)
