Location: Austin, TX, Hybrid

TGRC is partnering with an industry leading development shop in their search for a Senior Development Engineer. This development shop, in partnership with some of the country's leading IPPs, has proven to be significantly successful in delivering gigawatts of renewable energy projects. They have a development pipeline of 6 GW of Solar and Battery Storage projects across ERCOT, MISO, and SERC.

As Project Development Manager, you will provide risk assessment of the overall project and be a functional lead of multiple projects within Treaty Oak’s utility scale solar and battery storage portfolio. The Project Development Manager will own the ultimate responsibility for site acquisition, permitting, interconnection, and revenue offtake contracting for each project. This individual will have a sophisticated team of subject matter experts who will provide support for specific discrete deliverables such as cost estimates and interconnection process navigation, however, leadership of a cross-functional team to bring a project to Notice to Proceed (NTP) or project sale will be the ultimate responsibility of this individual.

 

Responsibilities:

• Site acquisition and due diligence working with land acquisition, engineering, and transmission to assess go/no-go risk profiles for each new opportunity

• Manage a project pipeline and execute on complex milestone deliverables across a network of stakeholders

• Integrate strong problem-solving capabilities to evaluate nuanced site, permitting, interconnection, and technology issues with internal experts and external stakeholders

• Understand the key financing elements of a project and ensure that all projects and deals continue to meet or exceed financial hurdles, leveraging internal financial models and working with internal project finance stakeholders

• Work with business development and origination to identify and quantify opportunities, then owning responsibility for RFP/RFI submittals

• Support the negotiation of key terms and conditions of power purchase agreements, permitting documents, and interconnection agreements to protect the commercial sensitivities of each deal

• Provide support in closing and financing each new deal

 

Qualifications:

• 5-10+ years of experience in project development focused on energy assets

• Led multiple renewable projects simultaneously through completion from greenfield site origination through NTP or project sale

• Experience completing all the following agreement types:

o Site lease or purchase agreements

o Site Plan and Building Permit approvals

o Tax abatement agreements

o Interconnection agreements

o Power purchase, hedge, or tolling agreements

o MIPA / PSA for project disposition / acquisition

• Strong knowledge of solar and/or energy storage value proposition as it relates to the overall project economics

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Flexibility and willingness to work on various initiatives simultaneously

• Supportive, resourceful, and willing to take on new tasks

• Persuasive, clear, and concise writing and presentation skills

• Creative and independent thinker; demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse, fast-paced team
