Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Remote (UK-based)

Contract Type: Fixed-Term - Cannot Sponsor

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Procurement Manager to join a growing consultancy within the renewable energy and sustainability sector on a maternity cover basis. This role has a strong leadership focus, offering the opportunity to manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team while delivering strategic value to clients.

You will take ownership of procurement delivery across multiple projects, ensuring best-in-class processes, commercial outcomes, and alignment with client sustainability objectives. Working remotely within a collaborative environment, you will play a key role in shaping procurement strategy, driving team performance, and embedding continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of procurement professionals, providing coaching, guidance, and performance oversight

  • Oversee end-to-end procurement activity across energy, utilities, and renewable services

  • Set and drive procurement strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational and client sustainability goals

  • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality procurement outcomes across all projects

  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex negotiations and supplier management issues

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and senior client stakeholders

  • Drive commercial value through strategic sourcing, cost optimisation, and contract management

  • Implement and continuously improve procurement processes, tools, and best practices

  • Monitor team performance through KPIs, reporting, and regular reviews

  • Ensure compliance with procurement regulations, governance, and internal policies

About You
  • Proven experience in a procurement leadership or management role

  • Strong track record of managing and developing teams in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels

  • Advanced negotiation and contract management expertise

  • Commercially astute with strong analytical and decision-making capabilities

  • Experience within energy, utilities, or sustainability sectors is highly desirable

  • Confident managing multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of delivery

  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
