Job description

​The Greeen Recruitment Company is searching for a Plant Technical Director of a Plant in Madrid.

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and optimizing the processes involved in treating and repurposing construction and demolition waste, with the goal of producing high-quality recycled aggregates. The position ensures compliance with environmental and safety regulations, operational efficiency of the plant, and achievement of sustainable production objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Plant Operations Management:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily plant activities, ensuring proper operation across all stages of the CDW treatment process, including reception, admission control, sorting, crushing, screening, and cleaning.

  • Continuously monitor and enhance production processes to maximize material recovery and minimize non-recoverable waste.

  • Ensure the quality of produced recycled aggregates, maintaining adherence to applicable technical standards and quality requirements.

Planning and Organization:

  • Develop and manage production plans aligned with demand requirements and plant objectives.

  • Optimize the use of resources (human, material, and energy) to achieve maximum process efficiency.

  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of machinery and facilities to ensure uninterrupted operations and prevent unexpected downtime.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure adherence to current environmental regulations by effectively managing non-recyclable waste and minimizing the plant’s environmental impact.

  • Implement and monitor compliance with occupational safety regulations, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for plant personnel.

  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities during environmental and safety inspections and audits.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Propose and implement technological improvements in CDW recycling and treatment processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the quality of recycled products.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and advances in waste management and recycling, assessing the feasibility of adopting new technologies or processes at the plant.

Personnel Management:

  • Lead and coordinate the technical and operational team, assigning tasks and ensuring continuous training on best practices in waste management and equipment operation.

  • Foster a collaborative and motivating work environment focused on continuous improvement and achieving plant objectives.

Supplier and Client Relations:

  • Manage relationships with suppliers of machinery, equipment, and services, ensuring availability of necessary inputs and spare parts for plant operation.

  • Maintain and develop relationships with current clients while seeking new clients to promote the use of recycled aggregates, ensuring client satisfaction and adherence to delivery deadlines.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare regular reports on production, plant performance, quality indicators of recycled products, and achievement of goals.

  • Analyze operational costs and propose actions to improve plant profitability.

Requirements:

  • Education:

    Technical Engineering degree in Civil or Mining Engineering, or related fields. Specialization in waste management is a plus.

  • Experience:

    At least 5 years in a technical leadership role within waste treatment plants, preferably CDW.

  • Technical Knowledge:

    Waste valorization processes, aggregate recycling, environmental regulations, waste treatment machinery.

  • Skills:

    Leadership, team management, decision-making, communication skills, results-oriented mindset, and commitment to continuous improvement.

Preferred Competencies:
  • Knowledge of environmental management and ISO standards.

  • Experience in optimizing industrial processes.

  • Ability to work under pressure in industrial environments.

Location:

The Technical Director will be based at the company’s headquarters in central Madrid.
