Manager Project Finance

Job description

​Our client is a fast-growing clean energy platform with a sizeable pipeline of utility-scale projects under development, construction and operation in the US.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to play a key role in the Project Finance team. You'll be responsible for leading valuation efforts, execution of tax equity investments, project and corporate-level debt, bond financings, and making financing-related recommendations to the investment committee within the renewable energy space in the U.S.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • Lead project/corporate finance structuring and execution efforts for renewable energy/green fuel projects

  • Lead the preparation of investment committee memorandums, including the proposal of actionable recommendations

  • Lead financial analysis, sensitivities and modelling activities. Monitor financial returns.

  • Assist in negotiating tax equity and debt documentation by working closely with technical, financial, and legal counsel

  • Drive the transaction due diligence process and oversee third-party consultants (investment banks, legal advisors, independent engineers, insurance advisors, transmission advisors, market consultants, appraisers, tax advisors, etc.)

  • Work cross-functionally within the organization and outside advisors to support project diligence and source key inputs from internal teams and external consultants to oversee timelines and capital structures

  • Lead conversations with internal and external stakeholders as well as with potential lenders and tax equity investors.

Minimum Requirements:
  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus, but not a requirement

  • 5+ years of renewable energy and/or finance experience (investment banking, project finance, or private equity is a plus)

  • Strong passion for and experience in renewable energy

  • Expert financial modeling and valuation capabilities

  • Expertise in tax equity modeling including capital accounts, depreciation, M&A and buyouts (preferred)

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

  • Good understanding of U.S. power markets
