About the Role

We are seeking a commercially minded In-House Counsel to serve as the company’s sole legal resource. This is a high-impact role working closely with senior leadership across development, finance, and operations, with responsibility for managing all legal matters across the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead legal advisor to the business across all stages of renewable energy project development, construction, and operation

  • Lead legal support for development activities, including site control, interconnection, permitting, and commercial structuring

  • Draft, review, and negotiate key project agreements, including:

  • EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) contracts

  • O&M (Operations & Maintenance) agreements

  • Equipment supply agreements

  • Development and joint venture agreements

  • Support project financing processes (debt, tax equity, and M&A), working closely with external counsel and internal stakeholders

  • Manage and coordinate external law firms across financing, M&A, and specialist matters

  • Provide strategic legal input on risk allocation, contract structuring, and project execution

  • Establish and refine internal legal processes as the business scales

  • Advise on general corporate, compliance, and governance matters

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to at least one U.S. state bar

  • 5–10+ years of legal experience, ideally a mix of top-tier law firm and/or in-house experience

  • Strong background in renewable energy project development (solar, wind, and/or storage)

  • Demonstrated experience negotiating EPC, O&M, and broader project development agreements

  • Familiarity with project financing structures (tax equity, debt financing, M&A transactions)

  • Experience managing external counsel and operating as a key legal stakeholder within a lean team

  • Highly commercial, pragmatic, and comfortable operating as a standalone legal resource

Why Join Nexus Renewable Power
  • Opportunity to take ownership of the legal function at a high-growth platform

  • Direct exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making

  • Strong pipeline of projects with near-term execution and long-term growth

  • Broad, hands-on role across the full project lifecycle
