​We are supporting a leading renewable energy developer in hiring a Lead BESS Engineer to take ownership of battery storage projects across their full lifecycle – from development through to construction and operation.

This is a senior, hands-on engineering role with strong cross-functional exposure, working closely with development, project management, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of BESS projects (standalone and hybrid) across all phases

• Support development teams with technical input, feasibility, and cost assessments

• Create conceptual designs, layouts, and component specifications

• Develop basic electrical designs (e.g. single-line diagrams)

• Prepare and manage technical tender documentation

• Support supplier negotiations and technical clarifications during procurement

• Review engineering deliverables including electrical, integration, and control system designs

• Work closely with project managers during construction and implementation, including site visits

• Provide support during commissioning, testing, and project handover

• Assist O&M teams with technical support and troubleshooting

Stakeholder & Project Coordination

• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful project delivery

• Support technical due diligence processes for financing and transactions

• Contribute to project optimisation and performance improvements

• Work closely with engineering and development teams across regions

• Ensure alignment with internal standards and industry best practices

What They’re Looking For

• Strong experience in BESS or energy infrastructure projects

• Solid background in electrical engineering and system design

• Experience across project lifecycle (development → execution → operation)

• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple stakeholders
