Junior Project Developer

Job description

Onshore Wind, with wider exposure to Solar & BESS

This would suit someone at an early stage of their career who already has a foundation in renewable energy and is looking for a role where they can develop into a well-rounded Project Developer.

I’m supporting a growing renewable energy developer with the search for a Junior Project Developer to join its German development team, with a particular focus on onshore wind. The wider business is active across wind, solar and BESS, offering exposure to a broader renewable energy portfolio.

This is a hands-on development role suited to someone who wants to build their experience across the project lifecycle. You don’t need to tick every box – the overall combination of project development knowledge, commercial understanding and willingness to learn is most important.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of renewable energy projects, particularly onshore wind.

  • Contribute to permitting and planning processes, with an understanding of the key stages and stakeholders involved.

  • Support feasibility studies, calculations and project assessments.

  • Develop an understanding of the commercial and financial aspects of renewable energy projects.

  • Support spatial planning and land-use related activities.

  • Engage with local stakeholders and develop an understanding of the political and regulatory environment surrounding the energy market.

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to help progress projects.

  • Spend regular time on-site and in the field, alongside working from the office.

What I'm Looking For
  • Some professional experience or academic exposure to renewable energy project development, ideally wind.

  • A basic understanding of permitting, planning and spatial planning processes.

  • Some exposure to financial modelling, feasibility assessments or project calculations.

  • An interest in the political, regulatory and commercial dynamics of the German energy market.

  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with different stakeholders.

  • Willingness to travel regularly for site visits and work from the office.

  • Fluent German and good English.
