Our client, an investment manager in the ESG sector, is looking for a strong financial modeller to support the investment team. Our client covers renewable energy and infrastructure projects across UK and Europe.

Role:

• Origination – assist in investment origination activities, including researching new opportunities, gathering market metrics, organising and attending meetings and monitoring pipeline

• Project screening – qualitatively assessing potential investments (reviewing IMs, teasers etc), distilling and disseminating information within the Investment Team, identifying, and considering the risks and how risks can be managed or mitigated

• Financial modelling – reviewing, running, creating and owning financial models for valuation of potential acquisitions and other financial decisions

• Due diligence – undertaking project financial/technical/legal and organising and managing external due diligence

• Committee materials – preparing materials for presentation to investment committee / senior Investment Team members

• Transactions/financings – assistance in the management of transactions, including legal documentation, negotiations, managing deliverables, and monitoring of assets invested in

Person:

• Interest in ESG, energy markets, climate change, finance, investing, financial analysis

• At least 3-5 years prior experience in a professional environment (accountancy, consultancy, fund, banking, energy, project development)

• Preferably prior experience in renewable energy, energy, or wider infrastructure

• Strong and experienced financial modeller, with the ability to create robust, bespoke, and potentially complex financial models, with succinct output. Able to write VBA code

• Strong understanding of and experience in asset valuation techniques, especially DCF

• Well organised, good diligence, effective communicator, dependable, honest/act with integrity, versatile, curious, and keen to learn and grow

• Bachelor’s Degree plus a professional qualification in accountancy or finance is beneficial

• Highly proficient in MS suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
