Job description

​Location: New Zealand/Australia

TGRC has partnered with a leading renewable energy company that specializes in sustainable power solutions who is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Engineering Operations to join their team in New Zealand. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of engineering principles and practices, as well as a proven track record of managing successful engineering teams in the renewable energy industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and monitor key performance metrics across the engineering function.

  • Benchmark performance across related industries

  • Identify areas for improvement (process, capability, and resourcing) and establish ongoing programs to lift performance.

  • Define all key engineering design and fleet management business rules and policies.

  • Provide an expert point of escalation for the engineering team.

  • Identify any emerging fleet performance issues and work with the Product Manager to address.

  • Develop and engage a team – in alignment with organisational culture.

  • Complete relevant documentation thoroughly and accurately including checklists and timesheets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or related field.

  • Ideally 5 years of experience in technical expertise in renewable energy systems, particularly solar.

  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or management role.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage engineering teams, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to renewable energy projects.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex engineering challenges.
