​Grid Connections Manager

Location: Edinburgh

TGRC is working with a leading renewable energy company. The company is looking for a Grid Connections manager to manage and coordinate the grid connections process for new solar, storage and co-located projects from preliminary site identification up to construction and then operation. This position will take a leading role in discussions and fostering relationships with distribution and transmission network operators.

Requirements: 

• 3-5 years’ relevant experience in solar, storage and/ or wind project development from a grid perspective.

• Degree in Electrical/Energy Engineering or related discipline.

• Relevant experience of working on renewable generation projects, ideally solar and storage

• Strong technical knowledge of electricity grid planning/operations and the UK/IRL Grid Codes and relevant ENA Engineering Recommendations (e.g. G99) and able to communicate complex and technical information and concepts to non-technical third parties.

• AC and DC electrical design of solar PV plants and grid connection methodologies.

• HV electrical equipment, control systems, SCADA, protection, and metering.

• DNO/ICP process for embedded generator connections in the UK.

• Health and Safety legislation with respect to electrical systems.

• Fluent in English
