Summary:

 A prominent international renewable energy developer are seeking a Grid Connection Engineer to join their established grid team. With a huge international portfolio, their Australian entity own an impressive pipeline of development projects.

 As Grid Connection Engineer you will provide electrical engineering services to support the grid connection process, at site identification stage to the commissioning and ongoing operational stages. You will be pivotal to the wider business’s progression of projects.

 

Your responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

·       Managing the technical aspects of grid connection agreements

·       Applying engineering knowledge and skills to manage the connection agreement negotiations

·       Providing input into grid issues including congestion, system strength and network losses

·       Providing electrical engineering services to EPC contract negotiation

·       Deliver the GPS required as part of connection processes

·       Managing grid connection processes within budget and project milestones

·       Establishing and maintaining stakeholder relationships, with NSPs, AEMO, consultants, and suppliers

·       Providing representation to the business at relevant industry events

·       Supporting due diligence as part of the financing of debt and equity for projects

·       Evaluating network losses and congestion for proposed projects using a selected suite of tools

 

Skills, qualifications and experience required from you:

 

·       Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject e.g. Electrical Engineering

·       Transmission network planning and steady state load flow modelling experience

·       Knowledge of the generator connection process under the NER

·       Knowledge of the NER’s regulatory framework relating to NSPs and generators

·       Knowledge of the assets required in the connection of various generating systems to the NEM

·       Understanding of how congestion, network losses and system strength are managed in the NEM

·       Stakeholder management experience

·       Risk assessment experience

·       Contract negotiation desired

·       Financial modelling knowledge desired

·       GPS negotiation and application desired
