Geographic Information Systems Technician - GIS

Role Profile:

This is an opportunity to join an experienced Project Development team. The GIS Technician will manage the ongoing GIS for a portfolio of Renewable Energy projects in Germany. We are a business that encourages flexible working practices.

Responsibilities:

• Use of ArcGIS software to provide accurate mapping information relative to the development of Renewable Energy projects
• Support Land Management in the implementation acquisition and control plans with regard to the development, design and construction of renewable energy projects
• Liaise with all relevant stakeholders to define and achieve survey & GIS service goals.
• Ensure sufficient timely and appropriate information and advice is exchanged with project the project delivery team.
• Act as the Survey & GIS coordinator for the business
• Analyse and interpret datasets including topographical survey data, LiDAR, UAV data, land ownership data and GPR data to assist Management with regard to the cost-effective planning and efficient design of projects
• Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team’s, objectives.

Qualifications and Competencies:

• NFQ Level 7 BSc Geomatics, GIS, or similar approved qualification (or working towards same)
• 2 years’ relevant experience
• Proficient in the use of GIS and surveying software
• Proficient in digital processing and manipulation of survey data, LiDAR data, UAV data and preparation and presentation of AutoCAD drawings
• Ability to read & understand title issues associated with Land Documents and to research legal title
• Ability to edit digital boundaries for the purpose of preparing detailed landowner maps
• Knowledge and understanding of development and construction methodologies for renewables energy projects
• Full clean driving license
• Excellent communications skills
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
