Environmental Compliance Specialist
Job description
The ECP Associate will support environmental compliance, permitting, and due diligence activities across the development, construction, and operation of utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work closely with an ECP Manager and cross-functional teams to advance projects through the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities include:
Support environmental due diligence, study planning, and permitting strategies for greenfield and early-stage projects
Assist in managing environmental consultants, including RFP support and review of technical reports and permit applications
Collaborate with development, engineering, legal, and project execution teams to identify and mitigate environmental risks
Participate in project meetings and provide environmental input to support siting and project design decisions
Track project milestones, permitting timelines, and key deliverables to ensure alignment with development schedules
Support compliance efforts as projects transition into construction and operations
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of environmental/permitting experience, ideally supporting energy or infrastructure development projects
Experience working on renewable energy projects (solar, wind, or storage) is preferred
Familiarity with key environmental regulations such as CWA, CAA, EPCRA, NEPA, ESA, and related state/local permitting frameworks
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and within cross-functional teams
