​The Green Recruitment Company are delighted to be supporting our client, an award-winning renewable energy company, who is using their pioneering Battery, Solar & EV systems to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable future.

They seek a new Commercial Associate to join their growing Commercial team & strengthen their analytical capabilities. You would be responsible for commercial analysis of EV charging, solar and energy storage; data analysis; and strategic projects such as assessment of new partnerships, revenue streams and technologies. The ideal candidate will be technically astute & be highly competent in project finance modelling. They will be organised & an excellent communicator, with the desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

The Commercial Associate will be involved in assessing the commercial viability of the company’s new sites, revenue streams and technologies. This analysis is crucial for the company’s significant growth plans in the UK and beyond.

The role involves 3 main areas:

  1. Product selection and financial modelling: working closely with the Commercial and Development teams to decide the ideal product at each new site location, before assessing the location’s business case based on financial modelling of revenues, up-front CAPEX and ongoing costs

  2. Data analysis: collecting and analysing company and market data, e.g., business performance data, location-specific data and market forecasts, to improve commercial assumptions and business strategy

  3. Strategic projects: e.g., assessing partnership opportunities, new revenue streams, new technologies and cost optimisation in the UK and beyond

Role Requirements:

  • Experience related to Renewables, Electric Vehicles or other cleantech industries

  • Degree or higher degree level qualification in a related discipline

  • Project financial modelling experience including Discounted Cashflow analysis (IRR, NPV, Payback)

  • Excellent data analysis skills in Microsoft Excel

  • Self-driven, able to prioritise numerous tasks and meet tight deadlines

  • Strong attention to detail and solutions-focussed attitude

  • Team oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
