​The Green Recruitment Company are delighted to be supporting an exciting Cleantech start-up, who’s innovative digital platform enables a more transparent energy market, providing a marketplace for traceable renewable energy certificates. The SaaS platform is directly minimising the ongoing “greenwashing” issue, as energy can be traced back to the exact clean energy site it was generated.

With the climate-tech start-up already securing impressive pre-seed funding, they are now looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to lead the supply-side sales strategy and develop relationships with leading utilities, developers, generators, and REC traders.

They will play a significant role in the business, having the opportunity to grow a team, lead on client engagement, and exhibit technical product understanding through successful onboarding sessions to clients across the UK and Europe.

At this exciting and critical time for the business, this individual will ensure that enough hourly certificates (REGOs, RECs, iRECs and GOs) are available to satisfy demand.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing & maintaining supply-side relationships across all commodities for the execution of hourly certificate transactions (GOs, REGOs, EACs, iRECs) on a 24/7 basis.

  • Completing tenders for GOs, REGOs, EACs, iRECs etc between developers, generators, corporates, and utilities.

  • Onboarding Renewable Energy projects & certificates to the platform.

  • Overseeing Supply side and Client Success teams, ensuring the execution of tenders.

  • Data analysis, capturing & reporting of the hourly-matched certificates.

  • Providing market and tender reports to key stakeholders, ensuring effective relations.

Requirements:

  • >3 years’ experience in the renewable energy industry in a business development/KAM capacity.

  • Strong understanding of renewable energy markets.

  • Understanding of Renewable Energy Certificates, in particular, GOs, REGOs, EACs, iRECs.

  • Track record of with supply-side stakeholders (generators, developers, suppliers, energy brokers).

  • Excellent business & commercial acumen.

  • Self-driven with an ability to work pro-actively in an individual or a team environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience with CRM and Microsoft systems.
