The Client

TGRC are representing a multinational company dedicated to the construction and development of utility scale solar projects.  My client is looking for a Business Development Manager to lead the development activities in the Chilean market. 

The Role

The successful candidate will have experience developing solar projects from both brownfield and greenfield stages with the responsibility of identifying M+A possibilities.  The BDM will be expected to grow the company’s success in the Chilean market and establish and uphold existing relationships within he community.  The successful candidate will take a lead on all development activity for the company within the Chilean market.

Key activities and responsibilities

  • Finding technically and commercially attractive PV opportunities in Chile
  • Working closely and negotiating with land agents, land owners, third party development companies and central and local Government authorities to secure exclusivities, lease options, grid connections, construction permits
  • Periodically reporting on project pipeline and forecast in the company
  • Reporting and recording on policy and legislation developments
  • Local and some international travel
  • Excellent knowledge of the project development process
  • Strong initiative and creative thinking
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (Native)
  • Ability to work individually and as a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Managing development budget
  • Proven track record of delivering/exceeding revenue and margin targets
  • Strong networking capability
  • Existing relationships with investors, central Gov and local authorities, other project developers, supply chain partners
  • Understanding of PV and competing technologies
  • Understanding and use of financial modelling
  • Willingness to travel extensively
