Job title: Asset Manager - Solar PV

Location: Rome, Latium, Italy (Hybrid)

The Green Recruitment Company is currently looking for a talented Asset Manager, focusing on Solar PV projects to join a leading renewables firm in Rome on a Hybrid working model. The Asset Manager will set up new SPVs into the asset management and H&S management systems by the local legal and regulatory frameworks and deadlines. In addition, the Asset Manager will be responsible for the management of the contracts of the SPVs.

Responsibilities:

Ensure that all assets comply with:
  • Statutory requirements for Health, Safety and Environmental performance,

  • Local planning authority requirements,

  • Grid company connection conditions and power purchase agreements,

  • Reporting requirements under lenders' facility agreements and other financial requirements,

  • Other agreements are in place.

Optimise project performance:
  • Monitor contractor performance during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to ensure all contracted SLAs are met or bettered,

  • Review and enhance maintenance strategies and activities to reduce downtime,

  • Review regular and other reporting provided by the contractors and ensure any issues are being suitably addressed,

  • Build strong relationships with contractors,

  • Direct supervision of sub-contractors or overseeing the work of management contractors where required,

  • Identify and establish the necessary KPIs to monitor the performance of each asset.

Manage the project operational budgets by:
  • Monitoring spending to budget,

  • Planning spending for activities on each project for approval by the investment team.

  • Identify equipment faults, and carry out diagnoses and troubleshooting activities with support from the Monitoring Team.

  • Prepare regular asset management reports on each asset.

  • Maintain and develop management tools including Operating Plans, Asset Registers and other management tools as necessary.

  • Visit company sites to assess the status and conditions of the solar farm.

  • Maintain data security and confidentiality by using information within the parameters of the job role, any applicable SLAs, the company data policies and/or privacy notices and the statutory guidelines set out within the GDPR and any associated UK legislation. Pay particular regard to any data that is generated by CCTV or that may be classified as personal data.

  • Comply with all required fire, health and safety requirements for the environment in which you are working, including making yourself aware of the current applicable policies and risk assessments acting accordingly, and attending any required training.

  • Liaise day-to-day with the Monitoring Team.

  • Any other reasonable task as requested by a Manager, Partner or Director of the business

Interactions with the group:
  • Communicate information as required within the team.

  • First point of contact for company clients.

  • Provide information to the Portfolio and Investments teams and attend regular meetings with these teams.

  • Liaise with the Finance and Legal Teams as necessary

  • Liaise with the Investment Managers, particularly at handover.

  • Provide information to and request information from the Engineering Team as needed.

  • Liaise with O&M Contractors regarding contractual enforcement – to include regular calls with those who are at company sites.

  • Attend Asset Management team meetings, company meetings, handover meetings, portfolio and investment meetings and appraisals as required.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent.

  • 5 years experience in solar farm asset management activities.

  • Strong commercial acumen and client management orientation.

  • Experience with remote monitoring systems on plant and equipment (preferably Solar)

  • Interpretation of mechanical and electrical engineering drawings, work instructions and design reviews

  • Contract management.

  • Budget management.

  • Interpretation of mechanical and electrical engineering drawings, work instructions and design reviews.

  • Advanced Excel Skills (macros, visual basic).

  • Fluency in Italian and English and proven knowledge of the management of SPVs operating in the solar market in Italy.
