The Opportunity
TGRC is supporting a major renewable energy developer with anticipated contract requirements across a large onshore wind construction portfolio in Finland.
We are looking to speak with experienced Site Managers with a strong background in wind farm construction, civil works, electrical interfaces, contractor coordination and site-based delivery. This is a senior site role, suited to someone who can represent the client professionally on site while ensuring that construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme, quality and contractual requirements.
The Role
The Site Manager will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day site operations during the construction phase of an onshore wind project. The role will involve close cooperation with the construction project manager, grid manager, OHL manager, contractors and wider project team.
This position will suit someone with strong wind construction experience who is comfortable managing interfaces between civil, electrical, substation, overhead line and turbine installation scopes.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day construction activities on site.
Represent the client professionally with contractors, suppliers, local stakeholders, landowners, authorities and project partners.
Coordinate site activities to support delivery against the main project schedule.
Monitor contractor progress, site performance, quality and production.
Support coordination between civil, electrical, substation, OHL and turbine scopes.
Review and document issues that may affect programme, downtime, disruption or claims.
Monitor contractor QA/QC activity and support high-quality construction delivery.
Participate in HSE inspections, toolbox meetings and site safety follow-up.
Lead or support project and site meetings, including minutes and follow-up actions.
Support engineering coordination, design approvals and document exchange where required.
Prepare progress reports and communicate project issues clearly to the wider project team.
Support handover into technical and commercial management.
Requirements
Degree-qualified in civil engineering, mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
Strong experience in construction management within onshore wind or comparable renewable energy infrastructure.
Good understanding of civil BoP, electrical interfaces, substation works, turbine installation and construction contracts.
Proven ability to manage contractors and coordinate multiple work packages on site.
Strong planning, reporting, communication and problem-solving skills.
Good understanding of QA/QC and HSE requirements on construction projects.
Experience working with MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and ideally AutoCAD.
Fluency in Finnish and English.
GWO certification preferred or accepted.
