​Onshore Wind Electrical Technician – South Korea

Onshore Wind | Electrical Maintenance & Installation | Contract

TGRC is seeking experienced Onshore Wind Electrical Technicians to support upcoming onshore wind project activity in South Korea.

This is a contract opportunity suited to electrical technicians with experience across wind turbines, renewable energy, power generation, heavy industry, substations or electrical infrastructure. The successful candidate will support electrical installation, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting and completion activities across utility-scale onshore wind projects.

The Role

As an Onshore Wind Electrical Technician, you will work as part of a site-based technical team supporting electrical works across wind turbines and associated project infrastructure.

Depending on the project phase, this may include turbine electrical installation, cable checks, energisation support, inspection, fault finding, planned maintenance, component replacement, electrical testing and handover activities.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Works

Carry out electrical installation, inspection, testing and maintenance activities on onshore wind turbines.

Support work on turbine electrical systems, including generators, converters, switchgear, control panels, cabling, pitch systems, yaw systems and auxiliary systems.

Assist with energisation, pre-commissioning and commissioning support activities.

Perform electrical fault finding and support corrective maintenance works.

Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, technical manuals and work instructions.

Turbine & Site Support

Support installation, service, commissioning or operational teams as required.

Complete electrical checks, continuity testing, insulation resistance testing and component inspections.

Assist with punch list close-out, defect rectification and handover documentation.

Work safely within turbine towers, nacelles, hubs and associated electrical areas.

Ensure tools, equipment and test instruments are maintained and used correctly.

Documentation & Reporting

Complete service reports, inspection sheets, test records and daily progress updates.

Record defects, non-conformances and technical issues clearly and accurately.

Support the preparation of turbine handover packs and completion documentation.

Escalate repeat faults, technical concerns or safety risks to supervisors and engineering teams.

Health, Safety & Quality

Follow all site HSE requirements, permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout procedures and risk assessments.

Ensure electrical works are completed safely and in line with approved procedures.

Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality and documentation.

Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings and site coordination meetings.

Promote a safe and professional working culture across all site activities.

Requirements

Previous experience as an Electrical Technician in wind energy, renewable energy, power generation, construction, utilities or heavy industry.

Strong understanding of electrical systems, drawings, cabling, testing and fault finding.

Experience working on wind turbines would be highly desirable.

Comfortable working at height and in challenging site environments.

Ability to use electrical test equipment safely and accurately.

Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Comfortable working on a contract basis in South Korea.

Korean language skills would be advantageous; English language skills would be useful for working with international OEM and project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Electrical qualification, trade certificate or equivalent technical background.

GWO Basic Safety Training.

Working at Height, Manual Handling, First Aid and Fire Awareness.

LOTO, electrical safety or HV/LV authorisation would be advantageous.

Previous experience with major wind turbine OEM platforms would be highly desirable.

Experience supporting commissioning, service or turbine installation activities.

Contract Details

Contract position supporting onshore wind project activity in South Korea.

Project duration, rotation and mobilisation date to be confirmed.

Competitive contract rate depending on experience, availability and project requirements.

Suitable for locally based candidates or international contractors with relevant South Korea project eligibility.
