Senior Greenfield Origination Manager
Job description
A large, established utility-scale solar and energy storage project developer with a 40+ GW project portfolio, offering full-service development from conception through construction.
Position Summary:
A landowner/client-facing role responsible for independently initiating new utility-scale solar, battery storage (BESS), and energy infrastructure projects nationally.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as primary company representative building landowner relationships through land acquisition and early-stage development
Skip trace landowner contacts and work through difficult-to-locate owners
Cold-call, generate landowner interest, negotiate, and close real estate agreements on projects ranging from 500 to 20,000+ acres
Track landowner/client interactions via CRM and GIS tools
Manage outside counsel on real estate contract drafting/revision/closing
Evaluate prospective sites commercially and for risk to support efficient project initiation
Initiate Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments and fatal-flaw analysis
Coordinate interconnection processes and title curative/mineral waiver work
Partner cross-functionally with real estate, permitting, development, and legal teams
Hand off early-stage projects to regional development teams once site control, interconnection application, and fatal-flaw clearance are complete
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering, or related)
5+ years experience (Manager) or 7+ years (Senior Manager)
Strong knowledge of land use, environmental regulations, and permitting
Strong communication skills, including presenting to regulators, officials, and community stakeholders
Proven project management across multiple concurrent projects/budgets
Preferred Qualifications:
Background combining technical/outside sales, commercial real estate negotiation (options, leases, PSAs), and renewable/BESS/energy generation development experience
High-volume real estate deal-closing track record
Knowledge of commercial real estate, agricultural, and timberland markets
CRM/GIS/MS Office proficiency
Willingness to travel up to 35%+
