Senior Accountant

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, month-end closing, statutory financial statement preparation, and headquarters reporting packages for the local entities and branches, using mainstream accounting software(s) and the national e-invoicing system.

  • Handle all local tax compliance matters, including timely filings (CIT, VAT, WHT), tax exemption applications, refund claims, and correspondence with tax authorities.

  • Lead or coordinate annual statutory audits, transfer pricing documentation, tax audits, and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors.

  • Support project development activities, including financial due diligence for new project acquisitions, transaction structuring, contract review, and the financial handover and accounting integration of newly acquired projects; similarly, manage the accounting data handover during project divestitures/sales.

  • Review and approve payment processes, contract workflows, and other finance-related internal approvals, while maintaining organized vendor invoice and contract records for audit readiness.

  • Manage external relationships with tax offices, customs authorities, financial institutions, and external audit firms etc.

  • Assist the Finance Manager with additional finance-related tasks, projects, and system or policy updates as needed.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or above, with a valid SKwP certification at intermediate level or higher.

  • 5–8 years of accounting experience, preferably in multinational enterprises, accounting firms, or the renewable energy sector.

  • Proficient in IFRS, local Polish accounting standards, and tax regulations (including National Tax and Customs Administration and Industry and Commerce Tax).

  • Hands-on experience in full-cycle accounting, financial statement preparation, external audit coordination, and tax compliance management.

  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken) and native Polish speaker.

  • Detail-oriented, analytical, willing to travel, and able to work both independently and collaboratively under pressure.
