The Opportunity

We are supporting a fast-growing international robotics and warehouse automation business with the appointment of a Field Service Engineer based in Kuala Lumpur.

The company develops intelligent sorting and logistics automation systems used across sectors including e-commerce, express delivery, retail, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, cold storage and consumer goods. With a rapidly expanding global customer base, the business is looking for a technically strong, customer-focused engineer to support overseas projects across installation, commissioning, fault diagnosis, maintenance and after-sales service.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in AGV systems, warehouse automation, robotics, electrical systems or mechanical automation who is comfortable working in an international environment and supporting customers both remotely and on-site.

Key Responsibilities

You will provide technical support for automated sorting and AGV systems, ensuring equipment is installed, maintained and restored to normal operation as quickly and safely as possible.

Responsibilities will include:

• Responding promptly to customer fault reports and carrying out post-sales fault diagnosis and repair across AGV hardware and software systems.

• Providing remote and on-site after-sales technical support for international projects.

• Supporting installation, commissioning and testing of AGV systems where required.

• Carrying out scheduled maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment failures.

• Preparing service reports, technical documentation, operating manuals and customer training materials in English.

• Delivering operations and maintenance training to customer teams.

• Managing local spare parts and components at branch level, coordinating with headquarters to ensure effective stock control.

• Collecting customer feedback and reporting recurring technical issues to support product and service improvements.

• Ensuring all site activities comply with relevant local safety standards and regulatory requirements.

• Working closely with multinational teams to resolve technical issues and improve customer satisfaction.

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• A diploma, junior college degree or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Robotics or a related technical discipline.

• Experience in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting or commissioning of AGV systems, warehouse automation equipment, robotics, conveyors, sorting systems or similar automated machinery.

• Technical understanding of sensors, electrical systems, network communications and automation control systems.

• Ability to read basic circuit schematics and CAD drawings.

• Practical experience using tools and instruments such as multimeters.

• Strong written and spoken English.

• Chinese language skills would be highly advantageous.

• Additional language skills, particularly Spanish or German, would also be beneficial.

• Relevant technical certifications, such as an electrician’s licence or automation system certification, would be advantageous.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver clear customer training and technical guidance.

• A practical, diligent and customer-focused approach to problem solving.

• Willingness to undertake frequent international travel.

• Ability to work effectively across different cultures and with multinational project teams.
