Location: Sandton (full time in office)
TGRC is partnering with a leading renewable energy developer and Independent Power Producer (IPP) to recruit a Business Development Manager to support the origination and development of utility-scale, grid-connected renewable energy projects.
This is a commercially focused project development role, responsible for identifying new opportunities, leading commercial negotiations, and managing projects through the early stages of the development lifecycle. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with technical, legal and project teams to progress projects from origination through to financial close and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Originate and develop utility-scale, grid-connected renewable energy projects.
Identify new business opportunities and secure project development opportunities.
Lead negotiations with landowners, regulators, utilities, municipalities, partners and other key stakeholders.
Manage projects through the development lifecycle from origination through to financial close and handover.
Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders and strategic partners.
Coordinate with engineering, environmental, legal and finance teams to ensure projects progress efficiently.
Assess project feasibility, commercial viability and associated development risks.
Support pipeline growth through market analysis and strategic business development initiatives.
Requirements
Proven experience in business development, project origination or project development within the renewable energy sector.
Strong understanding of utility-scale, grid-connected renewable energy projects.
Demonstrated experience managing commercial negotiations and multiple stakeholder relationships.
Experience working for an Independent Power Producer (IPP) or renewable energy developer.
Good understanding of the renewable energy project development lifecycle.
Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
