​Job title: Project Manager

Location: South Africa (Gauteng, Cape Town, Gqeberha or Middelburg)

TGRC partnered with a global certification testing & inspection consulting company looking for a Project Manager. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for developing new business and extending service scope for the renewable energy business line as well as be responsible for renewable energy enquiry follow-up, project handling, renewable energy project team set and competence build-up.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:
  • Act and perform according to the Quality Policy

  • Respect the confidentiality of the company and customers.

  • Responsible for the development of REN business, with full collaboration of related BD/sales and project engineering team

  • Responsible for strategic product & opportunity development, determining new or strategic business opportunities through the innovative use of global business analyses, market intelligence, competitive data, and customer feedback.

  • Identify and develop potential new business services and sectors for company expansion and build associated business plans and implementation plans.

  • Ensure the project is executed on time and budget against the agreed schedule and budget, and report status to the supervisor regularly and executive staff on an as-needed basis. Must be adept at financial management to administer budgets across assigned projects and ensure the project meets its requirements for revenue and EBITDA.

  • Recommends competitive positioning and pricing strategy and directs competitive strategies to ensure a leadership position. Recommends entry and exit strategies depending on ROI and competitive positioning.

  • Promote the company’s competitive advantage and positioning expertise within the selected industries by developing customer-centric services, participating in critical industry and regulatory events, and developing relationships with customers.

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve both the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery within the designated group of products, across the department and with external customers.

  • Do market research and develop new markets and new clients.

  • Develop and reinforce relationships with key customers.

  • Monitoring project handling process, lead time and project quality, customer feedback

  • Provide new business training to internal staff to make sure they have competent knowledge of standards and test techniques.

  • Answer technical queries raised by customers, explain the non-compliance points, and provide the expert’s opinions.

  • Implement recovery plans with the project team for off-schedule and unanticipated eventualities.

  • Support marketing and sales activities.

  • Perform other duties assigned by the high-level managers.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Degree in machinery, electrical or mechanical engineering, or related disciplines

  • Strong technical knowledge in machinery, electrical and mechanical field

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the electrical and mechanical industry

  • Intensive experience in electrical and mechanical testing of products is preferred.

  • Familiar with the international regulations of testing and certification.

  • Proven track record in running projects in a multinational environment.
