Job title: Interconnection Specialist/Engineer
Location: United States (Remote)
TGRC is seeking an Interconnection Specialist/Engineer to manage generator interconnection processes.
The Interconnection Specialist/Engineer will collaborate with stakeholders, including system operators and internal teams, and work with third-party consultants to ensure successful project outcomes. Responsibilities include conducting tariff research, preparing interconnection requests, overseeing external advisors, and maintaining the pipeline projects in good standing.
Responsibilities:
Develop a comprehensive understanding and familiarity with various generator interconnection procedures in North America.
Prepare interconnection applications compliant with ISO/RTO/Utility regulations including determination of financial and land control requirements.
Negotiate and execute generator interconnection-related agreements.
Manage commercial and technical aspects of the interconnection process.
Select and oversee external consultants for the early stages of generator interconnection projects.
Keep current with interconnection procedures and requirements by attending ISO/RTO periodic meetings and workshops.
Collaborate with internal teams throughout the project phases to ensure compliance with ISO/RTO/Utility regulations and support the generator interconnection process.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of professional experience in generation interconnection processes and procedures for at least one ISO/RTO.
Knowledge of various ISO/RTO regulations and policies related to generation interconnection processes and procedures.
Thorough knowledge of FERC transmission tariffs and interconnection processes.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field (Electrical Engineering or Power Systems preferred).
Proficient in the use of Excel to support project tracking and other misc. activities; adept at using Word and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
