About the Company

Our client is a globally recognized non-governmental organization dedicated to environmental conservation and sustainable practices. With initiatives across multiple continents, they strive to effect significant change in environmental policies and practices at both local and international levels. As they continue to expand their impact, they are seeking an Executive Director to lead their operations based out of Beijing.

Position Overview

The Executive Director will be responsible for setting strategic direction, expanding influence, and overseeing the daily operations of the organization. This role demands a leader who is deeply committed to environmental issues and who can effectively mobilize resources and partnerships to achieve ambitious sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to ensure the organization meets its goals of environmental protection and sustainable development.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of strategic plans and policies approved by the board of directors.

  • Represent the NGO in global forums and contribute to international environmental policy discussions.

  • Manage senior staff, fostering an environment of collaboration and excellence.

  • Ensure financial sustainability through effective fundraising strategies, including donor relations, grant writing, and capital campaigns.

  • Monitor and report on organizational progress to the board of directors and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Public Administration, Business Management, or a related field.

  • Significant leadership experience in an NGO, preferably with an environmental focus, demonstrating successful oversight of operations, staff, and budgets.

  • Proven ability to work effectively in multicultural environments and build strong partnerships with public and private entities.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with proficiency in English and Mandarin highly preferred.

  • Strong commitment to the NGO’s mission and values.
