Sales Manager

Energy Procurement

The Client:

The Green Recruitment Company are working with one of the leading energy suppliers in the UK market. They are a well-established natural gas supplier to businesses across the UK.  They work in the B2B market, with SME and I+C customers.  They differentiate themselves with flexibility, passion, attention to detail and market leading service.  They have won numerous awards and have seen a continuous growth pattern in all areas of the business over the last few years.

The Role:

The client is looking to bolster their sales division with the addition of Sales Manager. Managing and motivating a team of energy consultants, the purpose of this role is to maximise the quality and size of sales performance, whilst maintaining that clients are exposed to the highest standards of customer service. This role will reward target driven candidates with exceptional organisation and communicative skills.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Motivating a team of energy consultants to ensure they meet their maximum potential.
  • Manage the team’s performance.
  • To identify to individual training needs of the consultants.
  • Nurture less experienced sales team members.
  • Holding regular team meetings, and hold individual coaching sessions.
  • To demonstrate an ability to lead by example.
  • Maintaining that all consultants are up to date with market conditions, and internal procedures.
  • Understanding and observing correct operational practices.
  • Liaising between colleagues and suppliers.
  • Support the wider needs of the business and colleagues.

The Individual:

  • Experience of working within the energy space (supplier) is desirable.
  • Sales experience.
  • Business development knowledge.
  • An interest to work within the energy space.
  • Good motivation and mentoring skills, and an understanding of retention.
  • First-rate customer/client communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills.
  • Confidence working within in a team.
  • The ability to be flexible and show initiative when working under pressure.
