Energy Solutions – Strategic Account Manager
The Green Recruitment Company are pleased to be working with a leading Energy Company with an international presence who are seeking to recruit a Strategic Account Manager to join their B2B Energy Solutions division
Our client’s B2B Solutions division is an innovative new business function created to help generate more value for new and existing business customers. They have all the dynamism of a start-up, with the backing of a world-leading energy company. And with their extensive support they are able not only to enter the new solutions market, but also tailor their propositions to suit the needs of their customers.
Our client are seeking an experienced, influential salesperson to join their B2B Solutions business. It will be up to you to manage sales to our client’s large and medium corporate clients. You’ll manage the entire sales process, from identifying new opportunities to delivering tailored energy solutions to clients.
To begin with, you’ll support the overall strategy by targeting revenue opportunities in particular market sectors. Using your knowledge of clients’ previous spending with our client, their current financial situation and the wider market, you’ll identify the best opportunities for them.
You’ll then work with your clients’ board, directors and senior managers to identify their particular needs and drivers. By analysing these and using your extensive product and industry knowledge, you’ll develop a Strategic Development Plan for each client, including solutions tailored expertly to their business.
You’ll then manage the sales process through to completion, including relationship development, negotiations and contract delivery. You’ll also lead the sales support processes, including estimations, bid writing and a range of other operations. And throughout all of these processes, you’ll also ensure our client are always adhering to their internal management reporting, authorization and governance guidelines.

Essential skill requirements:
- Significant experience selling solutions or services to large corporate clients.
- Exceptional sales and negotiation skills, including the ability to deliver detailed, professional sales proposals.
- The motivation and drive to seek out new strategic opportunities.
- Confidence, gravitas and strong influencing and relationship-building skills.
- Some understanding of the requirements of large energy customers.
- Strong commercial acumen, including an understanding of the trade-offs between risks and rewards.
- Proven experience working in the energy sector.
